Status Report – 1/30/17

As I mentioned last week, I’m spending a couple of weeks working on some “marketing stuff”.   I was vague on specifics, but the specifics are pretty boring.    For those who care, last week I took my (very) old action/horror serial that used to be titled “The Young Ones” and started getting it ready for publication under the new title: “Dust To Dust”.    I won’t be publishing it though.    Instead, I’ll be offering it as a free download for people who join my (currently nonexistent) mailing list.   If you don’t remember or never read the story, you can learn all about it when I launch the list later this week.   Before THAT happens, I have to create a cover, write descriptions, create a sign-up page, blah, blah, blah.

Like I said… pretty boring.

The mailing list itself, however, will not be.   I think I’ve answered my own question of “what the hell do I do with a mailing list!?”
The answer isn’t necessarily new, and it will take time/energy that would otherwise go toward playing video games finishing my novel… but I can make it work, especially if there’s money involved.  Make what work?  Well, you’ll just have to see.

Also, you’ve no doubt noticed that I’m working on the website theme yet again.   I’m trying to go for something dark yet professional.  Not quite there yet… but I think I’m headed in the right direction.

  1. I remember the title, but not the plot.
Suggestion: A novelization of Saint Noir from the BOPD. I think that’s the story that was about the devil trying to get back to God.

      1. I’d pay a small fee for it. The BODP experiment was limited in what it could convey, and I know your writing would be much better.

On a side note, there a movie streaming on Netflix that might interest you. It’s a Netflix original, titled Spectral. It distantly reminds me of The Iron Dead and The Inquisitors mixed together. No horror, or really graphic stuff, but a decent bit of firefighting and “ghost” killing. I’d rate it 3.5 out of 5 stars.

  2. Oh hey, since you’re working on your website, would it be possible to show all the history at once? I would love to go through all (or at least, many) old posts, but I can’t see them to know what I’d be interested in readin. Every click is another load time that tends to defer me off to other things rather than read your site.

I’m not asking for anything. Just trying to give useful feedback. I think the look of your site is very professional, and I especially like the two pieces of artwork you use: The stucco wall, and the swirling, trailing, lights.

    Thanks for what you do!

    Robert
